| Beginning May 7, the following hours of
operation for the New York State Canal System will be in effect for the 2001
navigation season:
For the entire Erie Canal , Cayuga/Seneca, Oswego and
Champlain Canals:

471-5016. Boaters may also obtain information from the
Canal Corporation's
web site. The New York State Canal System is comprised of the
legendary Erie Canal and the Champlain, Cayuga-Seneca and the Oswego canals.
The inland waterway connects the Hudson River with Lake Champlain, Lake
Ontario, the Finger Lakes and the Niagara River. The New York State
Canal Corporation, which maintains and operates the Canal System, is a
subsidiary of the New York State Thruway Authority.
