Cayuga- Seneca Waterway -
"Whatever your pleasure, you can satisfy it along the Cayuga- Seneca Waterway"
In the heart of the Finger Lakes Region, the Erie Canal connects to the Cayuga-Seneca Waterway. This water treasure provides access to Cayuga Lake, at 38.2 miles long, the longest Finger Lake and Seneca Lake, at 618 feet deep, the deepest of the
Finger Lakes.
Seven state parks ring the Cayuga Lake Valley, while five surround Seneca Lake, offering you camping, picnicking, hiking, biking, wind surfing, sailing, skiing (water, cross country and downhill) boating, fishing, bird watching and swimming. Located
on Cayuga Lake, Allan H. Treman State Park is New York's largest inland marina while Taughannock Falls State Park shows off one of the highest waterfalls in the east. Seneca Lake offers excellent trout fishing, windsurfing, scuba diving and hundreds of campsites,
boat slips and launches.
Outdoor activities abound in the Cayuga - Seneca Waterway. Swim in a natural pool, walk behind waterfalls at Watkins Glen State Park or hike trails through gorges in Buttermilk Falls and Robert H. Treman State Parks. Unspoiled forests, steep
hillsides covered with grape vines, cold streams racing through deep gorges, tumbling waterfalls, and two of the most beautiful Finger Lakes provide an enriching experience for visitors of all ages.
Trade your bathing suite for a casual one and enjoy the many festivals, farm markets and factory outlet shopping opportunities. Dozens of wineries provide tours, tasting and some of the best wines produced in the United States. Discover history that
helped shape a nation, from the National Women's Hall of Fame in Seneca Falls to the Memorial Day Museum in Waterloo, home of the national holiday.
Whatever your pleasure, you can satisfy it along the Cayuga-Seneca Waterway.
